Bacon Wrapped BBQ Onion Bombs

These onion bombs will be the hit at your next party, so load up the recteq!

Instructions

  • Step 1: Cut off the tops and bottoms of the onions and remove the exterior skin.
  • Step 2: Cut the onion in half and peel the layers apart; keep the biggest layers to stuff with meat.
  • Step 3: Setting the onion layers aside, mix the ground beef, diced onion, parsley, mushroom, brown sugar, condiments, and bread crumbs in a large mixing bowl by hand.
  • Step 4: Place a handful of the meatloaf mixture inside two of the onion layer pieces.
  • Step 5: Wrap the onion meatballs in bacon, using three slices per ball.
  • Step 6: Secure the bacon with toothpicks to keep it from unraveling during cooking.
  • Step 7: Preheat the recteq to 425°F and cook for 40 minutes.
  • Step 8: Cover in BBQ sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
