It's a simple sandwich, but it's definitely tasty enough for dinner and with the SmokeStone, this Patty Melt is easy to cook for a crowd!

Instructions

  • Step 1: Burning recteq Ultimate Blend Pellets, preheat SmokeStone to medium high heat.
  • Step 2: Divide beef into 6 equal portions and roll into balls. Sandwiched between two sheets of butcher paper, smash each ball to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Step 3: Add 1 tablespoon butter, olive oil, and sliced onions to the griddle. Season with Ron’s Screaming Pig Rub and sauté onions for about 5 minutes or until translucent.
  • Step 4: Add Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce to the onions and cook for an additional couple of minutes. Transfer onions to a bowl and set aside.
  • Step 5: Add the patties and season with Ben’s Heffer Dust. Cook 3-5 minutes each side. Lay out all the bread slices.
  • Step 6: Build the Patty Melts by adding a slice of cheese, the patty, some onions and top with another slice of cheese. Spread remaining butter over the top and bottom of each sandwich.
