Dessert

Grandma's Eggnog

schedule

Prep Time: 20 min

Difficulty: Beginner

Best served with a side of joy and cheer, this rich and creamy dessert-like drink is delicious and easy to make. We suggest preparing it a few hours ahead of serving so all the flavors have time to shine through.

Instructions

  • Step 1: In two medium size bowls, separate the egg yolks and whites.
  • Step 2: Beat the egg yolks until thick and frothy, about 3 minutes.
  • Step 3: Add the sugar and continue to beat for 1 minute.
  • Step 4: Add the milk, Maker's Mark, and Crown Royal.
  • Step 5: In a medium size bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff, carefully folding into the egg/alcohol mixture.
  • Step 6: In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then fold into the egg/alcohol mixture.
  • Step 7: Add the Bailey's and stir to combine.
  • Step 8: Refrigerate overnight or at least 6 hours to fully develop the flavor, then garnish each glass with some grated nutmeg.
