Two of your favorite treats come together in an unstoppable dessert combo. We give you: recteq's Apple Pie with Cinnamon Roll Crust.

Instructions

  • Step 1: Sift flour and salt into a large bowl. Cut the shortening and butter in until crumbles start to form.
  • Step 2: In a small bowl mix the water and vinegar together, add the liquid mixture to the crumble dough mixture and combine until dough starts to form and you can handle it.
  • Step 3: Sprinkle flour onto countertop before rolling out the dough. Split dough into two chunks.
  • Step 4: Roll out one piece of dough on the floured surface into a rectangle. The dough should be the same thickness as regular pie dough. Spread a light coating of butter all over the pie crust. Then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Step 5: Starting with the long end, roll dough up tightly, as if you were making cinnamon rolls. Once you have dough rolled, cut into 1/4-1/2 inch thick slices using a pastry cutter or sharp knife.
  • Step 6: Press cinnamon rolls down into the bottom and up the sides of a 9'' pie pan, overlapping and pressing the edges together to seal the crust. Repeat the dough process for the top of pie.
  • Step 7: Burning the recteq Ultimate Blend Pellets, preheat recteq to 375°F.
  • Step 8: In a large mixing bowl add pie filling, vanilla, cinnamon, and recteq Whipped Honey and mix well. Add filling to crust and top with top layer of crust, pinching the edges together to create a seal.
  • Step 9: Place inside recteq and bake for 45-60 minutes until golden brown. Remove and let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
