These crispy smashed wontons bring together savory pork, cabbage, and bold Asian flavors, perfectly seared on the griddle for a smoky, golden finish.
Instructions
- Step 1: Start the SmokeStone and preheat to 375ºF.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl combine pork, shredded cabbage mix, 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, rice wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, water chestnuts, and Jody's Asian Persuasion Rub. Mix until everything is combined.
- Step 3: Take 1 tablespoon of the mixture and spread it evenly across one side of each wonton. Repeat this process until the mixture is gone.
- Step 4: Spread some oil or butter across the SmokeStone cooking surface, place the wontons onto the griddle meat side down and cook for 4-7 minutes. Brush the tops of the wontons with a little oil to help them crisp up.
- Step 5: When the meat is golden brown and crispy, flip them over and cook for 3-5 more minutes. Pull the wontons once the wrappers are crispy.
- Step 6: Make the dipping sauce by combining the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Thai seasoning paste, sriracha, toasted sesame seed oil, and 1 tablespoon soy sauce and mix well. Place wontons on a platter and serve with the sauce on the side.
