Simple and elegant, this Poached Whole Octopus for the recteq wood pellet grill brings incredible flavor to the table!

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat RT-B380X to 500°F. Add onion, carrots, bell peppers, garlic, peppercorns, bay leaves, Jody's Asian Persuasion Rub and water into stock pot and place on recteq. Close lid on recteq and bring to a simmer.
  • Step 2: Once simmering, add octopus to liquid, dunking it 3 times before full submerging it. Close lid and let simmer until tender (45-60 minutes).
  • Step 3: With tongs, carefully remove octopus from liquid and let rest. Once cooled, cut tentacles away from body and place on hot grill, basting them with the teriyaki sauce until nice and crispy. Remove, slice and serve.

  • 4 tablespoon(s) Jody's Asian Persuasion Rub
  • 12 cups Water
  • 1 (3-5 pounds) Whole Octopus
  • 1 cup(s) Teriyaki Sauce

  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Tongs
