Whether you are a BBQ beginner or a seasoned pit master, you will be able to pick up some tips, tricks, and secrets of the competition BBQ circuit through hands-on instruction.

Our 3-day BBQ Academy at our HQ in Evans, GA will walk you through the ins and outs on how to prepare and box Grand Champion-caliber brisket, pork, ribs, and chicken. The Evans classes will cover meat selection, trimming, injections, seasonings, times, temperatures, sauce application, and knife sharpening.

At Academy, we will also cover grill maintenance, best practices, and you will get to meet members of the #recteqfamily from around the country. We will also have exclusive merchandise, specials, and free swag for attendees. Come meet your favorite recteq guys and gals and spend a weekend learning from the best alongside the recteq family!

John Pannell is a classically trained chef and currently serves as recteq’s Culinary Innovation Specialist. He has been a member of the recteq family since February of 2019, and can be seen hosting various livestreams while sharing his infectious smile and culinary knowledge.

Her business brings BBQ catering, seasonings, sauces, and classes to customers every week. She has appeared on various shows such as Chopped, BBQ Brawl, & BBQ Pitmasters.

What do I need to bring?

For both our Evans Academy and our Lehi Workshop Academy, you will need to bring nothing but yourself! All food and other course materials will be provided for you. Bring your checkbook or wallet if you plan to do any shopping while you are here.

How much does recteq Academy cost?

For our Evans Academy the price of one ticket is $1198 + applicable taxes determined at checkout.

For our Lehi Academy Workshop the price of one ticket is $349 + applicable taxes determined at checkout.

How many spots are available in each class?

For both of our Evans Academy and Lehi Academy Workshops, we will have 30-36 seats available.

Is there a discount if multiple people want to register?

There is no group discount for either of our Evans Academies or Lehi Workshop Academies. For private event dates for either location, please contact Chef Greg at chefgreg@recteq.com.

Are both the Evans Academies and Lehi Academy Workshops open to beginners?

Yes! Both of these classes are designed for pit masters and backyard grillers alike. 

What if I need to cancel after I register?

We understand that things come up and will work with you to the best of our ability. Any cancellation more than 20 days prior to the event date will receive a full refund. Any cancellation 20 days or less from the event date will receive a 50% refund. 

Can this be purchased as a gift?

Yes! However, be aware that we will be emailing and mailing information to the original purchaser such as itineraries, info on accommodations (if needed), etc.

For the Evans Academy, where can I stay at in Augusta, GA?

We will have special pricing available at different area hotels. This information will be provided to you after the purchase of your ticket. We will also offer free overnight RV parking and/or camping at recteq. At this time, we are unable to provide power or water hook-ups. We will allow access to our company restroom and shower facilities 24/7.

Can I shop in recteq retail while attending either the Evans Academy or the Lehi Academy Workshop?

Absolutely. We will have a private shopping experience where we close our retail center to the public for recteq Academy attendees only. We will also have exclusive recteq Academy items that can only be purchased by attendees while at the event!
