PULLED PORK

Ingredients:

  • 1 8-9 pound pork shoulder
  • Yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon molasses

Rub:

Mop:

  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 4 cups of apple juice
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Carolina Style BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp blackstrap molasses
  • 1 tbsp ground mustard
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. Cover the pork shoulder with mustard and molasses mixture.
  2. Mix ingredients for rub.
  3. Cover shoulder generously with rub.
  4. Preheat recteq to 225ºF.
  5. When heated, place the pork shoulder on recteq.
  6. Brush with mop every hour.
  7. Cook until internal temperature reaches 195-200ºF (meat should pull apart).
  8. Mix ingredients for Carolina BBQ sauce and serve alongside pulled pork.
