Thanksgiving Dinner 4 Ways

The temps are dropping and it's time to get a plan underway for the holiday cooking season. Have you set up your Thanksgiving Day menu yet? Some people just love to stick with a traditional Thanksgiving menu and that’s ok with us. All your favorite holiday recipes from your childhood will translate easily to the recteq wood pellet grill without any stress. On the other hand, traditional isn’t the only way to celebrate. We’ve got four ways to host your event this year with all the smoky tastes you crave. You’ll have the best Thanksgiving Feast ever with a little smoke and recteq Rub magic!

Traditional Turkey Day Menu

Queue up the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and start peeling those sweet potatoes. For a traditional holiday menu, start with a recteq Smoked Turkey to set the stage for success. The secret to an amazing smoked turkey is a perfectly-seasoned butter injection. You can create your own with any of our Rubs or follow this simple tutorial for Cajun Turkey. If you’d like a smaller-scale take on tasty turkey, go with Smoked Turkey Breast. It wouldn’t be thanksgiving without the Stuffing and our traditional Sage Stuffing is a simple recipe that starts with pre-made stuffing and is upgraded with sausage, garlic, Ben’s Heffer Dust, and Colden’s Freakin’ Greek Rub for incredible flavor. For classic sides with that traditional holiday-vibe, be sure to serve up Sweet Potato Casserole, Cranberry Citrus Relish, and Green Bean Casserole. If your guest-list includes kiddos, any of our Mac ‘n Cheese recipes will make you the favorite holiday host! Be sure to fill up the dessert table starting with our classic Smoked Pumpkin Pie.

Asian-Inspired Thanksgiving Menu

With our own Jody’s Asian Persuasion Rub, it’s easy to make Asian-inspired smoky masterpieces right in your backyard. First off, try our Smoked Asian Duck for a centerpiece or for an exquisite fish offering, go with Asian Marinated Salmon. A simple side of rice would be the perfect addition to these flavorful entrees, or serve up our ever-popular Kung Pow Brussels Sprouts. Although it’s not necessarily an Asian dish, the decadent Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee would make an excellent finale to your meal or pick up some Mochi for a more authentic combination.

Seafood Thanksgiving Celebration

Seafood recipes are always a treat, and they make another great way to celebrate Thanksgiving with a twist. Whet your guests’ appetites with Cajun Shrimp Dip; served with Smoked Cornbread Cakes it’s the perfect tribute to harvest season. For a main course, there are lots of delicious options but two ideas we love are Pistachio Pesto Crusted Salmon or Blue Crab Stuffed Lobster. Both bring the flavor and the atmosphere in a big way. Pair these up with our delicious Green Jacket Salad and Smoked Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese. For the finale, it’s got to be Smoked Fudge for rich flavors that will live up to the rest of the meal. No one will miss the turkey with a menu like this!

Upscale Holiday Feast

Want this Thanksgiving to be a black-tie affair? Start the meal off with an impressive appetizer: we’d suggest Bruschetta Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms or Shrimp Cargot to wow your guests. Follow up these delights with Smoked Prime Rib for a main course that will be a hit. On the side serve our Creamy Smoked Scalloped Potatoes and Grilled Broccoli & Bacon Salad. The combination will be both beautiful and delicious. For an aromatic and flavorful meal side-kick, you can’t go wrong with Smoked Garlic Bread. Need a dessert that will leave everyone speechless? Go with Molten Chocolate Lava Cake and your guests will become recteq fans just like you.
