If you love to go out apple picking during the Fall months, then this is the perfect recteq dessert for your family.

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat recteq to 350°F.
  • Step 2: Cut the peeled and cored apples into 1/8 inch thick slices, then toss them in a mixing bowl along with the lemon juice and zest.
  • Step 3: Add the sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon to the apples; toss and then taste. Add more sugar until desired sweetness is reached.
  • Step 4: Add the apple mixture to a cast iron skillet.
  • Step 5: In a food processor, add the butter, flour, granola, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pulse until a crumbly texture is formed.
  • Step 6: Pour the topping evenly over the apples and cook until the apples are soft and the topping is crisp; this should take about 45 minutes.
