These smoky, caramelized BBQ hot dog bites are coated in a sweet and savory sauce, creating the perfect bite-sized snack.
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your recteq to 250°F. Slice hot dogs into 1-inch pieces and place them in an aluminum chef pan.
- Step 2: Season with BBQ rub and brown sugar. Toss until evenly coated.
- Step 3: Place the pan on the recteq and smoke for 45 minutes.
- Step 4: Add butter, BBQ sauce, and honey (if using). Stir well to coat.
- Step 5: Continue cooking for 30-45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens and the edges become dark, sticky, and caramelized.
