FAQS

How is the RT-2500 BFG different from other recteq pellet smoker grills?

Have you seen this thing? The RT-2500 BFG is a beast, giving you a massive cooking area to plan a spread that your guests will talk about until the next cookout. (At your place, of course.)

Is the RT-2500 BFG NSF certified?

While the RT-2500 BFG is built like a tank, it has not been certified by the NSF. The internal components, however, are food-grade 304 stainless steel.

Is the RT-2500 BFG mainly a grill or a smoker?

The recteq RT-2500 BFG is a wood pellet grill that operates as both, thanks to its high temperature range. It can maintain consistent heat from as low as 180°F to as high as 650°F, making it ideal for grilling, smoking, searing, baking — you name it.

Do I have to use the app to control my grill?

You do not have to use the recteq App to control your grill. The recteq App is top-rated and super easy to use, but you don’t have to use it. The RT-2500 BFG has push-button start and temperature control directly on the grill’s control panel.

Do I really need a grill this big?

If you only have an occasional cookout or large gathering, it might seem like overkill, but it’s also perfect for everyday cooking. Imagine on the weekend, you can serve up some perfectly cooked BBQ to your family and some friends, while also prepping some meats for the upcoming week. Who said meal prep needs to be boring?

So far I've cooked bacon, baby back ribs and pork shoulders in this BFG. Everything has come out wonderful. I love the extra space at the smoker has and very happy with my purchase.

Amazing smoker. This is my second smoker from Recteq. Sold the first one and upgraded to the BFG. I love it! This company stands way above the competition.

BuyThis is the best purchase I have made in years! Just as promised, built like a tank. Assembly was easy (as long as you have a friend to help with the lifting). And I could not be happier with the cooking. The PID is incredibly accurate and easy to use. The food coming off is amazing!

Smoking in Style

This is one hell of a smoker! I cooked 6 rack of baby back ribs, 2 pork butts, and some pork belly. If I wanted to I could have got much more on the grill. The temp stayed with in one or two degrees for the entire cook. All the guys at our party were drooling over this grill! It is built like a tank! I've owned several other main brand pellet smokers. This is the real deal! I wish I would have pulled the trigger on this grill sooner. It made its way to interior Alaska without a scratch. I can't say the for most thing that ship here. Their customer service is top notch! Recteq is were it's at!!!

My second one

I love this BFG 2500, I purchased one 5 years ago and and was so amazed at the quality of the product plus the service I received from the Rec-Teq customer service. None better. I cooked for many different large gatherings at our church for five years until it was time for us to make a move out of state. The church said I was free to go but my BFG 2500 needed to stay. I did donate it so the church could continue to enjoy the great meals it put out. After we moved I was so busy getting our new place in order that I really didn’t miss it too much. But when we put on a big community cookout for all of our new neighbors I knew another BFG 2500 had to be purchased. The day my new grill came it was put together and burned in so that we could have a large cookout the next day. It turned out fantastic as always and I am even more in love with it than before. I was very pleased to see that the stainless steel deflector had been replaced with a cast iron one which is so much better. They saw where a problem was with their earlier models and improved it without raising the price to the consumer. When you buy a Rec-Teq product you truly are joining the family and will be treated as such. I do not plan on ever being without my Rec-Teq grill again. Thank you Rec-Teq for being such an outstanding company and being a huge part of our family.
