Smoky, flavor-packed pulled chicken tossed in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce on a buttery bun - this recipe is ready for rave reviews.
Instructions
- Step 1: Burning the recteq Ultimate Blend Pellets, preheat your recteq to 375°F
- Step 2: Spatchcock your chicken and season with Ron's Screaming Pig Rub. Let rest for 5 minutes, then place on recteq.
- Step 3: Cook to an internal temp of 165°F. Remove from recteq and allow to rest for 15 minutes before pulling meat off of the bone. Place a cast iron skillet on the recteq and allow to come up to temp.
- Step 4: Place meat in a medium size bowl and set aside.
- Step 5: Once skillet is hot add onions and garlic. Cook until onions become translucent. Add pulled chicken and mix well.
- Step 6: Add Ron's Screaming Pig Rub, recteq Mild Gourmet BBQ Sauce, and mix well until sauce starts to get thick and tacky.
- Step 7: While chicken is getting tacky, add buns to recteq and toast both side of bread. Remove bread and cast iron skillet. Top buns with chicken and serve.
