Banana pudding is great, but this Southern Banana Cobbler Dump Cake hits different. Fire up the recteq, grab a scoop, and let dessert steal the show.
Instructions
- Step 1: Chef Note: For extra Backyard Swagger, smoke the cobbler at 325°F for the first 20 minutes, then increase to 350°F to finish. The light smoke flavor pairs perfectly with the bananas, caramelized sugars, and Nilla Wafers topping.
- Step 2: First, Build the Filling. Preheat your recteq to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or cast-iron skillet.
- Step 3: Combine sliced bananas, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, milk, and vanilla pudding mix. Stir until combined and spread evenly into the baking dish.
- Step 4: Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the banana mixture. Top with crushed Nilla wafers cookies and chopped pecans (if using). Drizzle the melted butter evenly across the entire surface, covering as much of the cake mix as possible.
- Step 5: Place the dish on the recteq and cook at 350°F for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Step 6: Remove from the grill and allow the cobbler to rest for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
