Meet the Staq, recteq's NEW Vertical Pellet Smoker
October 15, 2026

For years, there has been a quiet murmur throughout the recteq family: “When are you going to make a vertical smoker?” Our team was listening, and now it’s time to deliver. Meet the Staq, recteq’s much-requested vertical pellet smoker.
This isn’t just another way to smoke a brisket. The Staq gives you the freedom to cook for a crowd, hold barbecue overnight, make jerky and sausage, run a rotisserie, and finish a steak with serious high heat. Whether it’s your first smoker or your fourth, the Staq is going to change the way you cook.
Vertical smokers have always offered backyard cooks something valuable: a large cooking environment in a relatively compact footprint. But we knew recteq could offer so much more. Our team of passionate grillers didn’t want to build just another vertical smoker. We wanted to create something worthy of the recteq brand, right down to the micro-polished horns. The result is a vertical smoker designed around versatility, precision, capacity, and the freedom to cook more of the foods you love.

Why a Vertical Pellet Smoker Changes the Way You Cook
One of the biggest advantages of a vertical smoker is simple: you can cook a lot of food in a straightforward, easy-to-access cabinet without requiring the footprint of a traditional horizontal smoker. Five stainless-steel cooking racks give you room to build the cook upward instead of outward.
That vertical design also lets you think about the cooking chamber in layers. Put rich, fatty, messier cooks on the lower racks, while vegetables, casseroles, desserts, pies, and cobblers occupy the racks above. Saucing ribs, wrapping brisket, panning pork butts, or checking different foods throughout the cook stays simple because every rack is right in front of you.
And with recteq’s Dual-Band Wi-Fi controller, a cooking range from 150°F to 450°F, precise temperature control in 5-degree increments, and vertical airflow designed to create a consistent flow of heat and smoke throughout the cabinet, the Staq is built to give you more consistent results with less babysitting and less moving food around.

Cook for Large Groups with the Staq Vertical Smoker
The Staq was built to cook big. Think family reunion, church cookout, hunting camp, or a neighborhood tailgate. Instead of planning your menu around the space in your smoker, you can start thinking about how much food you actually want to serve.
• 15 racks of ribs — up to 3 per rack
• 10 briskets — up to 2 per shelf
• 20 pork butts — up to 4 per shelf
• 30 pounds of beef jerky
• Four 20-lb. spatchcock turkeys
Its generous width and depth also allow you to accommodate full-size 4-inch-deep foil steam pans, which means the space can work harder for you. Put brisket over beans and let the drippings add flavor as they cook. Catch turkey drippings for gravy. Let pork juices season vegetables below. Instead of simply fitting more food, you can build an entire cook around the different layers of the cabinet.

Hold Food Overnight and Serve on Your Schedule
Great barbecue doesn’t always finish exactly when you want to eat. At 150°F, the Staq gives you a controlled environment for keeping finished food warm and holding briskets and other large cuts overnight until you’re ready to slice and serve.
For anyone who has ever worried about a brisket finishing too early, that changes the equation. You can cook ahead, keep the food warm, and have more control over when dinner actually hits the table. Consistent temperature control and Wi-Fi connectivity also let you monitor the cook from your phone instead of spending the whole day next to the smoker.
With a 33-pound hopper and a burn rate of less than half a pound of pellets per hour at 150°F, the Staq can run for more than 60 hours without a refill, so an overnight hold doesn't mean getting up to check the hopper.

Make Jerky, Sausage, Smoked Fish, BBQ Favorites, and More
Every hunting season brings home a freezer full of possibilities. But after enough meatloaf and chili, it’s natural to start looking for new ways to enjoy the harvest.
That’s where the Staq really shines. With temps as low as 150°F, it gives hunters and outdoorsmen the controlled environment needed for foods like snack sticks, jerky, summer sausage, smoked andouille, and chorizo. For these recipes, temperature control is critical. Temperature spikes can lead to moisture loss and undesirable texture, while the Staq’s PID controller is designed to maintain precise temperatures throughout the cook.
You aren’t limited to cooking food directly on the racks, either. Hang foods from the upper racks to smoke rope sausage, summer sausage, charcuterie, and other foods that benefit from a hanging cook. Tougher cuts of venison can be smoked and braised until tender, then used in everything from hearty stews to shredded barbecue and easy weeknight sandwiches.
Enjoy Rotisserie Cooking Without the Guesswork
A Rotisserie Kit was at the top of our list when our team started talking about everything we wanted the Staq to do. Instead of treating it like an afterthought, rotisserie capability was designed into the Staq from day one. There’s no need to drill holes, fabricate brackets, or modify the smoker to figure it out yourself.
The Staq’s dual rotisserie capability gives you another way to cook everything from poultry and prime rib to legs of lamb and your favorite al pastor recipes. As the meat rotates, rendered fat continuously rolls over the surface, creating a natural self-basting effect. You can accommodate a 14–16-pound turkey, full prime ribs, or multiple chickens on the rotisserie spit. With 2 full prime ribs, you can easily serve 36 friends and family.
And because you can position pans beneath the food, the rotisserie doesn’t have to take over the entire cook. Capture the drippings while vegetables or other sides cook underneath. Two additional electrical outlets are located on the back of the hopper, keeping power connections convenient and cords out of the way.

Smoke Low and Slow, Then Finish with a Serious Sear
The Staq is the master of low and slow, but it can also bring the heat when it’s time to sear. With the optional Steak Drawer Kit, you can smoke a steak low and slow, then give it the searing hot, wood-fired finish it deserves, without firing up a second grill to complete the cook.
Inserted into the bottom of the Staq and equipped with two cast-iron cooking grates, the Steak Drawer Kit creates a direct wood-fired cooking environment with temperatures reaching upwards of 800°F. It’s designed for those times you want serious heat: steaks, chops, burgers, and anything else that deserves a hard sear. The Steak Drawer Kit captures the intense heat generated by the stainless-steel firepot and, much like a pizza oven, is designed to retain and concentrate that heat around your food.
That combination gives you a wider range of possibilities in one setup: low-and-slow smoking when you want time and smoke to do the work, then high-heat searing when the food is ready for its finish.

Holiday and Tailgate Cooking
The holidays have a way of turning the kitchen into the busiest room in the house. The Staq gives you another cooking environment when you need it most, so you can move some of the holiday cooking outdoors, free up valuable kitchen space, and cook more of the meal at one time.
Think Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas prime rib, smoked ham, appetizers, vegetables, casseroles, and desserts across multiple racks. When the food is ready before your guests are, temperatures as low as 150ºF give you a place to keep brisket, pulled pork, holiday sides, and more warm until it’s time to serve.
The same idea applies on game day: feed a crowd without spending the whole day standing over the smoker. Load up ribs, wings, pork butts, sausages, queso, appetizers, and sides, monitor the cook from your phone, and get back to the party. More food. More smoke. More friends. More time to watch the game. That’s what a tailgate should be.

A Vertical Smoker Built for More
The Staq is more than a place to smoke a rack of ribs. It gives you the space to cook for a huge crowd, the low-temperature control to hold barbecue overnight or make jerky and sausage, and optional accessories that add rotisserie cooking and serious searing capability to the same vertical cooker.
Built like a tank. Consistent temperature control. Deep smoke flavor. Massive capacity in a compact footprint. Whether you’re a first-time smoker, an experienced pitmaster, a hunter working through a freezer full of wild game, or the person everyone counts on to feed the party, the Staq is built to give you more ways to cook.
One smoker. More capacity. More possibilities. That’s the Staq.
