My fan had gone bad on my REC TEC 680, such that I couldn't cook anything at above 300 degrees without loads of noise and unpleasant (almost plastic smelling) smoke. I wrote customer service, they called early the next day, I told them the problem, they had a new fan wrapped and shipped out to me three days later. Fan works fantastically, no more crazy, bad-smelling smoke, and I can crank the heat to 500 with no issues.
The customer service these guys offer is absolutely superb. Thanks guys!

I bought a new 680 and love it the first month the fan quit so I called Rec Tech and spoke with them the next day I received the new fan and back to smoking. The best grill I've ever owned hands down and service that's top notch.thanks guys Jim

I had a problem while smoking two chickens so I called Rec Tec for guidance. I thought the problem was probably due to high moisture content in the pellets because it had rained for several days. The Rec Tec was on the patio and out of the weather but the humidity was very high. The problem was that the Rec Tec was not reaching the set point and then smoke started pouring out of the lid, smoke stack, and hopper. When I opened the lid I saw that I had a fire in the bottom of the Rec Tec by the fire pot. I shut the 680 down and called Rec Tec for help. After discussing the problem Rec Tec support they said they wanted to replace the fan even though I told them I thought the problem was damp pellets. I cleaned the Rec Tec by removing the pellets and ash. After I replaced the pellets with fresh dry ones I started up again it worked fine. The new fan came in a couple of days later and I replaced the old one with it. The new one is working great and so is the 680. The response from Rec Tec support is great. I didn’t think the fan was a problem but the support group wanted to make sure I didn’t have the problem again. Thank you Rec Tec for being so customer focused.
The best customer service
This company provides the best customer service I've ever experienced. They were helping before I needed help and after I was finished they were still checking to make sure everything was right and that I was happy. Fantastic company and a great grill
