Richard Cogar -

They sent the auger motor and I received it within two days. All under warranty. REC TEC stands 100 percet behind the products.

Impressive Customer Service.......again

Dave Bruckner -

The auger motor on my RecTec expired. With one email, a replacement was on the way, free of charge, and I'm back up smoking again with less than a week of down-time. I continue to love my decision to choose a RecTec over competitors' pellet smokers. The only "glitch" with this order was that the motor did not come with installation instructions, but I figured it out.

Installation instructions and design need modification

Wm McMillan -

Part was replaced under warranty for auger stalling. Your support is excellent. Instructions need to be modified for the smaller grill which I have. You must remove the entire back housing to access the motor. The design for screw connecting the motor to the auger needs to be modified. Note below;

1. replace the fine thread screw with a hex or square pin. Trying to put the washer, lock washer and nut back on is like trying to thread a needle from 3' away. Almost gave up.
2. Drill a hole in the hex or square pin and use a small cotter lock pin.

3. the hex or square pin will prevent the cotter pin from rotating and hitting the bearing or the housing. Make the tolerance between the pin and the hole a little tighter or slot the shaft and put a tit on the pin so the pin will be tight enough and not rotate or come out when you try to install the pin.

4. if you stay with bolt/nut combination at least go with a self locking nut and a coarse thread so it will be easier to start.

It works. Auger Motor

Michael Dobrzycki -

The motor works but makes noise. Fan Blades are hitting the bolt on top and makes the noise. But I wanted to use the grill. Hope it LASTS.

Motor works fine

Jeff Janik -

I have replaced 2 auger motors recently on my 2 pits. May want to look at a shear pin that shears when the auger is stuck to keep from ruining auger motor.
