Sear Kit RT-340
SEAR KIT FOR RT-340
The Sear Kit is made up of two interlocking panels that fit across the surface of your RT-340. They can either replace your existing grates or cover them. The hard anodized aluminum emits infrared heat which increases the grill’s surface temperature, reduces burning, and delivers restaurant quality sear marks. Flip it over and use the flat side for a surface sear. Simply place this Sear Kit on the righthand side of your cooking grates and it will provide you with bold sear marks and even bolder flavor.
- Perfect fit | Prevents flames from burning, charring, and drying out food
- Heat is concentrated on raised rails | Restaurant-quality sear marks
- Hard anodized aluminum | Heats food evenly
- Moisture vaporizes on the grates | Surrounds food in a flavorful steam bath
- 2 interlocking panels (15” x 5.25” each)
- 1 grate tool

Do a great job!

These heat up hotter than the grill grate to produce a sear on things like steak.
Does the job perfectly!!

Purchased sear grates for my Rec tec, they work like a charm for my steaks , chicken wings and anything I want that good charred searing.
Does what it says
It does sear the meat I've only used it once so far, I just got it. I smoked the steak for a few mins. Then cranked up the heat and moved it onto the searing area. It did sear the steak but not as good as a regular grill and that's understandable considering its infrared. The taste was right on. Very good. I would've given it 5 stars but I haven't used it enough.
The searing kit is great for steaks and just about everything. I had never heard of reverse searing, but it sure is a tasty way to grill. You can flip them over and use the flat side too.
Even better than expected

I didn't even know there was such a thing as a pellet grill a month ago. Heard about them and did lots of research. Rec Tec got great reviews so I ordered the Mini. Arrived on time with thank you letter from 2 owners with their cell phone numbers. In past 3 weeks I've cooked ribs, steaks, wings, and turkey. Everyone at Thanksgiving said it was best turkey EVER! One neat thing is all the Rec Tec fans sharing recipes and ideas on Facebook and Youtube. You can get ideas to cook anything!! I could go on and on but bottom line is I LOVE the Rec Tec! I highly recommend it.
Excellent for searing - works as advertised

I use these on my Trailblazer and they work great. You have the choice of rib side up - for those cross hatched lines, making a great looking steak, or flat side up - for more like searing the entire meat surface. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of five is because the ends of this extruded aluminum are extremely sharp and could have (should have) been deburred better before anodizing; be careful, they can cause serious cut when cleaning, will cut gloves if you wear them to clean, and will tear up a scotch brite pad. I wouldn't avoid buying these because they are sharp, just need to be careful.
Sear using either side of the product, either the flat side or raised rail side. Both work fantastic! Using this searing kit can actually increase the temp in your grill...not that you need the grill hotter than 550. I love the RT300 and the searing kit!

I owned my Rec Tec for about a year before buying these grates. When buying the grill I did not think I would miss them.

I was mistaken. Sorely mistaken.

For those of you who already own this grill and those of you who are wondering if you should buy some $50 grates to go along with your $500 grill, my advice is the same. Get the grates.

The food that you can cook on the Rec Tec is consistently some of the best food you will ever have. Smoked brats, steaks, burgers, dogs, potatoes, veggies....it all comes off amazing. But no matter what I tried, I was unable to get that true "grill" flavor. The sear marks, the sear taste, you just can't do that on the Rec Tec alone. However, you add these grates, and you have an honest to goodness "grill" and the ability to cook with direct heat on an indirect pellet grill.
